One person's trash...

Performance Fabric from 100% Post-Consumer Plastic Bottles
The Cornerstone of SP's Green Product Line

RPET Explained

SP’s environmental focus will include many new and cutting-edge fabric blends designed to still contain our popular transitional performance benefits, but either actively reduce the footprint humans leave on the environment or prevent new problems from ever arising.

Specifically, one of the fabrics SP will be introducing is RPET, or Recycled Polyethylene Terephthalate. RPET is member of the “polyester family,” and would be most commonly seen used as soda or water bottles. Every new EcoWear shirt is made from at least 5 recycled bottles, which would otherwise be dumped in a landfill and add to the world’s every-growing pollution problems. We've been able to source 100% of the necessary bottles domestically, and even mill the fabric in the US - which supports both the local economy, and the reduction of trash here, literally, in our own backyards.

Even in its recycled nature, the polyester still retains its popular performance features, such as moisture wicking, breathability, and durability. As mentioned earlier, our EcoWear line will not lose any of the key transitional performance benefits SP prides itself on. It's just now we are just taking our company mission a step further...

Dramatic Effects
From any purchasing perspective, including EcoWear in your life creates a pact with the environment, and helps us form a movement away from destructive apparel practices that have become the business norm. Every SP customer can take pride in knowing their EcoWear purchase shows a level of responsibility and commitment on their behalf towards creating a healthier future for us all.

Purchasing just one shirt creates energy savings that will prevent 5.5 pounds of CO2 from being released into the atmosphere, and 180 cubic inches of wasted landfill space.

Together, we can help create awareness and effect change that goes beyond any bottom line.
