SailProud Apparel - About Us
SailProud is an outdoor apparel company focused on creating high quality, innovative performance clothing, all from eco-friendly and recycled materials sourced in the USA. Our steadfast commitment means energy conservation, CO2 emissions reduction, & diminishing landfill/litter through our production process, everyday. While our work is focused on providing this great apparel, we work to protect the environment and save fragile natural eco-systems and their inhabitants.
At SailProud we stand ready for the challenge, and dream of our goals - continued stewardship of environmental protection, conservation, and an eco-friendly lifestyle. By purveying the finest clothing to those who understand the "green" lifestyle most of all, we're poised to really make a difference - and hope you’ll join us in making the world a better place.
Fabric Benefits
While each material has its own specific benefits and advantages, SP shirts are of the highest quality - wicking sweat and moisture, regulating the evaporative cooling process to keep the wearer cool (or warmer in winter garments), reducing skin friction, inhibiting odor through microbes, and providing a solid 50+ UV protective factor in each of our proprietary blends.
Our R&D is focused on taking all types of environments and conditions into consideration when designing apparel. Whether the wearer is lounging on the beach, kayaking down a river, riding some waves, or tacking towards the mark, SailProud Apparel always has them covered.
We're also diving deeper into the recycled world - reclaiming industrial cotton and acrylic waste to turn to fibers for our shirts, as well as repurposing soy, hemp, bamboo and various other organic substances for SP gear. We will be continually churning out new blends and fabrics as final developments are made, expanding our product lines to popular and necessary styles.
Environmental Information
SP gear has a profound, and measurable, effect on the environment. Our signature EcoWear Tech Tee is made of approximately five post-consumer recycled plastic bottles, taken directly from US landfills, and then fabricated and constructed in the US as well. Besides reducing the amount of wasted landfill space, repurposing the bottles will prevent more than 5.5 pounds of carbon emissions from being released, per shirt, as well as saving enough energy to light a 60-watt lightbulb for 6 hours.
